Our Dental Team

Principal Dental Surgeon Aamir Hyder (BDS), GDC No. 75165, qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998. I worked as a general dental practitioner within the NHS for ten years in Basingstoke, until the purchase of Whitchurch Smiles Dental Practice in 2009.

I am dedicated to continuing post graduate education to ensure my knowledge base and skill sets are constantly updated and utilised. I am currently undertaking the MClinDent in fixed and removable prosthodontics from Kings College London. I have completed level 1 of Aesthetic Advantage continuum, smile design course at Guys hospital London.

My work ethic is family orientated practice. With an honest, sincere and relaxed yet professional approach to dentistry which has allowed me to gain the support of many patients over the years.

Patients appreciate honesty when it comes to their dental care. We ensure our patients are informed of all possible treatment options before they make an informed choice on the best course of treatment suitable to them.

In starting out in private practice I was faced with the conundrum of how to structure my fees. My belief has always been that patients should be provided with the best quality in equipment and materials during their treatment. This was difficult because of the current economic climate, cost of treatment is a major hurdle for many patients. When deciding what type of treatment to consider. I decided that provision of quality is of greater importance than cost, as good quality materials provide better long term prognosis and predictability which in turn results in lower costs as there is reduced need for frequent replacements, it also gives me greater confidence knowing that what I place as restorations in my patient’s mouths are the best in quality of materials.

My philosophy is treat people the way I would like to be treated which most people can appreciate and relate to.

Cost of treatment can vary greatly between dental practices. My fees are competitively priced without compromising the quality of care or materials.

Laboratory work (crowns, bridges and dentures) are guaranteed against failure of materials for three years and direct restorations (fillings) placed by Dr. Hyder are guaranteed for a minimum of one year.

Manageress/Head Nurse Miss Lucy Robinson has been working as a dental nurse since 2001. She acquired her dental nursing qualification in 2003 and has been working in Whitchurch since. Apart from being an incredibly capable nurse and manager at our practice, her warm, bubbly and relaxed yet professional attitude help to make every visit an enjoyable one for all our patients.

We have the pleasure of working alongside both Dr Sahota and Dr Bains from Stunning Skin, who can provide our patients with facial cosmetic procedures from wrinkle reduction injections and dermal fillers to help with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
